Moral Focus Collections

Saddleback's Moral Focus Collections offer grades 4-5 classrooms Hi-Lo paperback sets built around character-building virtues, pairing fiction and nonfiction at a range of Lexile levels. Set 1 and Set 2 aren't split by reading level, they cover roughly the same range, so choose the set whose specific titles best fit your classroom, or get both to double your title variety without repeating a book. Sets with a "+ Hi-Lo Guide" add-on include a comprehension strategies guide for teaching with the collection; the set alone works well for independent or classroom-library reading.

Themes include: wisdom/discernment, respect/tolerance, gratitude/contentment, self-control/self-discipline, perseverance/flexibility, courage/assertiveness, encouragement/generosity, compassion/empathy, and integrity/accountability.
