Welcome Newcomers® helps immigrant teens navigate their new life in the United States, one real topic at a time, from finding and keeping a job to navigating school expectations to managing money. Built around 14 key topics in total, the complete library pairs 28 titles, three copies each, so every topic gets both a nonfiction book teaching the skill and a fiction story putting it into practice. Each library includes a full Teacher's Guide with lesson plans, vocabulary instruction, strategic reading questions, and assessments, plus a set of 140 Survival Vocabulary Cards, since research consistently points to vocabulary acquisition as one of the biggest levers for students learning English. An audiobook set is also available separately for classrooms that want an additional way in.
