The GO! Welcome SLIFE™ library was developed for English learner tweens who may be migrant students, refugees, or students who for other reasons have had limited or interrupted formal education. While the reasons for their limited or interrupted learning may differ, these students have similar educational needs. The GO! Welcome SLIFE™ library features emergent-level Hi-Lo Books™ that were developed around five genres with twenty key topics that will enrich a SLIFE student’s journey. Each book pair features a nonfiction book about a key topic along with a fictional story that presents a real-life application of that topic. A comprehensive instructional support guide and vocabulary card set are also included for deeper learning. Special focus is given to 200 content-related vocabulary words to support vocabulary acquisition for striving readers.
