Moral Focus Collections

Moral-focus virtues themes include wisdom/discernment, respect/tolerance, gratitude/contentment, self-control/self-discipline, perseverance/flexibility, courage/assertiveness, encouragement/generosity, compassion/empathy, and integrity/accountability. Each box comes with a collection of fiction and nonfiction in a variety of Lexile levels.

How to Choose the Right Set

Set 1 and Set 2 overlap in reading level, but Set 2 reaches somewhat higher (up to HL760L, versus HL600L for Set 1), so Set 2 has more room for your higher-Lexile readers. Neither set is a strict "harder" or "easier" version of the other; think of them as different title selections with different top ends. Sets with a "+ Hi-Lo Guide" add-on include a comprehension strategies guide for teaching with the collection; the set alone works well for independent or classroom library reading.
