GO! Excel™ [3] is the third and most advanced box in Saddleback's Tween Emergent Reader Libraries® Sight-Words-based track, built for upper elementary and middle school students, ages 10 to 14, who have built a solid sight-word foundation and are ready for longer, more complex hi-lo (high-interest, low-readability) fiction and nonfiction, including students with learning differences and English language learners. The box contains 60 books: 3 classroom copies of 20 different titles spanning 5 genres. Every title is written at a Reading Level of 1.1 to 1.5 (Lexile HL80L to HL170L), runs 64 pages, and 1100 to 1300 words, longer and more advanced than GO! Emerge™ [1] and GO! Engage® [2], while still using age-appropriate covers and topics so an older student reading below grade level doesn't end up holding a book that looks like it's for a much younger child.
