The GO! SEL Social Emotional Stories set includes 24 titles (12 book pairs) of original 48-page fiction, each pair built around one SEL topic. One book shows a middle schooler successfully applying the skill; the other shows a character struggling with it and dealing with the fallout, giving students a concrete basis for discussing the topic and how it shows up in their own lives. Like the GO! SEL Tween Literacy Library, six topics focus on self-awareness and six on social awareness, and each pair highlights five emotion vocabulary words (60 total), defined in a glossary at the back of each book.
These Emotion Vocabulary Cards give students 60 full-color cards, 5 emotion words from each of the 12 SEL topics, with a photograph on one side and the word and definition on the other. They reinforce the same emotion vocabulary highlighted in both the GO! SEL Social Emotional Stories and the GO! SEL Tween Literacy Library books, whether used alongside either set or as a standalone tool for helping students identify and name emotions.
These Emoti-Cards give students 60 full-color cards that call out the facial cues of each emotion featured in the GO! SEL Social Emotional Stories and GO! SEL Tween Literacy Library books, with diverse faces representing the range of students who use them. Paired with the Emotion Vocabulary Cards, they help students practice reading emotions in real social situations, whether used with either book set or on their own.
