The GO! Welcome SLIFE™ Vocabulary Cards give students 200 full-color cards covering 10 essential words per topic across all twenty GO! Welcome SLIFE themes. Each card pairs a photograph with the vocabulary word and definition, reinforcing the content students encounter in the paired fiction and nonfiction books, whether used with the full Boxed Set or as a standalone review tool.
The GO! Welcome SLIFE™ library was developed for English learner tweens who may be migrant students, refugees, or students who for other reasons have had limited or interrupted formal education. While the reasons for their limited or interrupted learning may differ, these students have similar educational needs. The GO! Welcome SLIFE™ library features emergent-level Hi-Lo Books™ that were developed around five genres with twenty key topics that will enrich a SLIFE student’s journey. Special focus is given to 200 content-related vocabulary words to support vocabulary acquisition for striving readers.
Research shows that vocabulary acquisition is a critical component for newcomers. The vocabulary cards include 10 words per topic. The 200 full-color cards feature a photograph on one side and the vocabulary word and definition on the other. Each 3.5" x 5.5" card features one rounded corner for ease of organizing.
