Striving teen readers need materials that meet them where they are and keep them moving forward. This page brings together two sight-word-based reading solutions built to do exactly that: Teen Emergent Reader Libraries®, which introduces short, simple sentences with highlighted "emphasis" words and full-color photo support, and Teen Early Fluency Libraries®, which builds on that foundation with longer fiction and gradually reduced photo support as students approach a second-grade reading level. Used together, they give teachers a clear, gradual progression for building confident, fluent readers.
Teen Emergent Reader Libraries®
Teen Emergent Reader Libraries® give striving teen readers material built for their reading level, without reading like it was written for a younger student. Short, simple sentences pair with highlighted "emphasis" words to build word recognition, while full-color photography supports comprehension at every step. Organized into three progressive tiers, Emerge, Engage, and Excel, the series builds confidence and skill before students move on to Teen Early Fluency Libraries®.

Teen Early Fluency Libraries®
Teen Early Fluency Libraries® build on the foundational skills introduced in Teen Emergent Reader Libraries®, moving developing readers into longer fiction as they approach a second-grade reading level. Photo support steps back gradually, appearing every few pages in fiction and every other spread in nonfiction, so students build fluency and vocabulary at a pace that keeps pushing them forward without falling behind. Organized into progressive tiers that each increase by half a reading level, the series lets students continue advancing step by step toward stronger, more confident reading.

Sight Words-Based Boosters
Boosters offer expansion opportunities for any Teen Emergent Reader Libraries® set. Unlike the libraries, Booster titles are sold individually, with each Booster level supporting a specific TERL library: Emerge, Engage, or Excel. STEM Boosters offer a way to explore science, technology, engineering, and math for emergent readers, while Verse Boosters introduce readers to the versatility of contemporary poetry. Boosters can also stand alone as excellent Hi-Lo classroom books.
